First Arizona coronavirus death was a City of Phoenix Aviation Dept worker

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- The first Arizona death from coronavirus was confirmed by the Department of Health on Friday and he worked for the City of Phoenix.


Health officials did not release the patient’s name on Friday, but said it was a Maricopa County man in his 50s with underlying health conditions. A letter from the Phoenix city manager said he was an employee at the Aviation Department. He worked in a remote office and "had minimal interaction within any of the terminals and related airport facilities," the letter said.
